I grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and have lived in Interlochen Michigan, Bloomfield Hills, Beloit Wisconsin, Bloomington Indiana, San Francisco California, Brooklyn New York, and live now in Austin Texas.

I played in bands when I was young. Most were noisy and futile and fun. Some were delicate folk ensembles. I loved doing it. All the bands were and have remained obscure.

I make maps for a living.

My hair is red or white. While I used to most value intelligence and artistic creativity, I care more now about kindness and good results.

I love physical activity within a spiritual context, like Yoga, or bicycling.

I am frequently irritable, self-absorbed, and obsessive, but I am also grateful to be here. Making people laugh pleases me.

Throughout my life people have underestimated me. I think that’s a gift.
