RAGTIME
When the full moon curves
up to the top of the night
we play ragtime in a bamboo grove
and the grackles are quiet with concern.
Everything is from somewhere else,
but is so right,
like Buddha in a baseball cap.
An old tune passes through
and the moon begins to move again.
We’re all smiling.
We know this will only happen once.
